Genuine Lotus Track Rod End A117H0009F
These items are very prone to wear on an Elise and Exige and are an MOT failure if the rubber dust covers are perished or split.
This track rod end is genuine original equipment and is priced very competitively, we even include the special M10 fine threaded nuts.
Lotus part number A117H0009F
To check for wear, lift the front wheels off the ground and rock the steering a few centimetres from side to side whilst you hold the wheel, there should be almost no movement of the steering wheel without immediate movement of the wheel.
The areas that can cause this are: Steering rack, Steering column universal joints or Track rod ends.
If you feel movement of the rack track control arm and hardly any movement of the steering arm / track rod end then these should be replaced.
To check for UJ wear, turn the steering wheel from side to side and look at the joint where it connects to the rack pinion; all movement should be relayed straight through the UJ to the rack (check all bolts are tight).
